studioWTA is pleased to announce that Tracie Ashe and Julie Babin have joined Wayne Troyer in partnership in the firm. Join us in congratulating them during this exciting time.
Ms. Ashe’s projects have won city, state and regional awards, including Honor Awards from both AIA New Orleans and the AIA Gulf States Region, Louisiana AIA Award of Merit, Louisiana Landmarks Society Excellence in Historic Preservation, and the Associated Builders and Contractors Excellence in Construction Award. She has previously taught several studio courses at Tulane, and has been an invited critic on thesis reviews. Ms. Ashe’s current projects inlcude the conversion of four historic buildings–including a church designed by architect Henry Howard in 1862–to a boutique hotel and a new, single-family residence in the Lower Garden District.
This Mardi Gras marks Ms. Ashe’s thirteenth year with studioWTA.
Julie A. Babin, AIA, LEED AP, has designed and managed a variety of projects since joining studioWTA in 2006. Her work includes the rebuilding of Jefferson Presbyterian Church and the renovation of the John P. Isché Library Commons at the LSU Health Sciences Center, both of which received AIA awards: The Jefferson Presbyterian Church was honored with an AIA New Orleans Honorable Mention and the Library Commons received both an AIA New Orleans and an AIA Louisiana Merit Award. The Library Commons was also featured in The Year’s Best Architecture in New Orleans Magazine in 2010.
Mrs. Babin’s other honors include first place for the Louisiana Emerging Professional in a USGBC Natural Talent Design Competition, and the John William Lawrence Memorial Medal for Design Excellence from Tulane University.
Ms. Babin is currently leading two LEED Silver projects: The Pythian, an adaptive reuse of a historic temple for the Knights of Pythias, and the Center for Student Success at Tulane University’s Mussafer Hall located on the academic quad of the Uptown Campus.
