Toni DiMaggio has contributed her talent and expertise to the studioWTA team since 2006, when she returned to her native New Orleans after receiving her Master of Science in Historic Preservation from Columbia University. During her studies in New York, she received the Robert C. Weinberg Award for Excellence in Preservation Planning + Design for her thesis focused on New Orleans in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.

Upon returning to New Orleans, Ms. DiMaggio became the founding president of the local chapter of docomomo_us, an organization dedicated to the documentation and preservation of buildings and neighborhoods of the modern movement.

A 2003 graduate of Tulane’s School of Architecture, Ms. DiMaggio managed the conversion of Tulane’s Newcomb McAlister Unified Greenway, was the project manager and designer for a historic interior renovation and addition on City Park Avenue, and contributed to the successful completion of many Historic Tax Credit projects for studioWTA. She is currently managing a high-end renovation of an Italianate building in the French Quarter.

Ross Karsen, RA, joined studioWTA in 2010 with a focus on residential construction, renovation, and adaptive re-use by combining historic and modern aesthetics in a refined, complimentary manner.

Working as a designer and project manager, Mr. Karsen’s eye for detail can be seen in sensitive renovations including an early nineteenth century residential renovation in the Marigny, and his understanding of planning on a larger scale can be seen in the designs for the unrealized Elisio Lofts and, currently, a large-scale mixed use development in the Bywater neighborhood of New Orleans along Press Street.

Mr. Karsen’s personal residence, which he designed and constructed in 2012 as a modern interpretation of vernacular New Orleans architecture, was featured in New Orleans Homes magazine as the New Build of the Year in 2015.
